The first Amsterdam RubberWalk

The Rubber Bunch is becoming a wonderful community. I am incredibly grateful because this is what I, Iris, have worked towards with great joy and dedication over the past years. To organize something fun every now and then, I made a call a few months ago asking for suggestions on what could be a nice addition to the Rubber Bunch activities. Many responses came in, ranging from a boat trip, a dinner, to even a mini vacation in rubber. Each idea was more original than the last. What was clear, however, was that the theme “Latex in public” ran like a thread through the submissions.

As a result of this, after some organizing and thinking, on July 20th, the first Rubber Bunch Rubber WALK took place. With the support of Rubber Fun, the ideal (web) shop for latex lovers (https://rubberfun.nl/en/), I was able to bring the idea to life: a city walk in latex through the old center of “my” city; Amsterdam. To ensure everything went smoothly, we could count on Club Akhnaton, where the Rubber Bunch PARTY is also organized (https://www.akhnaton.nl/). There, one by one, the (sometimes slightly shy) latex enthusiasts arrived and could change in a private room.

It was the hottest day of the year, but that didn't deter the participants. Masks, catsuits, the most extravagant outfits were brought out. Despite a large fan, the temperature inside quickly rose to subtropical levels. Once everyone was dressed, we set off. We were accompanied by three large guys who acted as “bodyguards.”

I must say that I found it incredibly brave of everyone to go out on the street fully in rubber. For many, it was an incredible challenge but also an insane thrill to do and dare this together.

The sun sizzled on the latex, sweat poured over the Amsterdam streets, but WE DID IT. We showed how cool (not cool in temperature, but definitely cool) rubber is and the people who wear it. Everywhere we passed, we caused a stir. Terraces full of people turned around, people cheered us on, and some even started clapping spontaneously.

At the Dam (and several other spots), we paused for a group photo, and not only our photographers went wild, but also many tourists started taking pictures.

Because most wore hoods (and some even gas masks over them), and we were very hot, it was high time to freshen up halfway through. This was possible at one of my favorite shops in Amsterdam: SMART Fetish and Fantasy, the specialty store for BDSM toys and handmade whips, cuffs, and collars. The ice creams, ice cubes, and bottles of water that were provided were very welcome and much needed to recover a bit from the extreme heat.

After that, it was only a short distance back to Club Akhnaton, where we settled on the terrace for a drink and bitterballen. Inside, participants could pose in the specially installed photo booth for that purpose. Photographer Rosa, specialized in fetish photography, made a beautiful portrait of each individual.

I can only say that it was a very special day. There was a sense of solidarity, trust, and like-mindedness within the group. Even those who came alone quickly found company, and no one had to feel lonely or excluded.

It was a beautiful, colorful parade of fun, enthusiastic rubber lovers.

With the Rubber WALK, we as the Rubber Bunch community have shown that rubber is fun, beautiful, and enjoyable. On this special day, Amsterdam was able to enjoy a bit of it, and who knows, maybe we also conveyed the message to others that you can be who you are and dress how you want. In fact, be proud of who you are!

After this successful first WALK, it is clear; we are going to do this again, but with an EVEN larger group (and hopefully with slightly milder temperatures).

Irresistible Iris
