Proud in Rubber, Free in Ourselves

Because we — especially now, in a time where hard‑won freedoms seem to be under pressure — believe it is more important than ever to be proud of who we are, The Rubber Bunch wants to emphasise how essential it is to cherish our differences. We are all different, and that is exactly what makes our community so vibrant. In our world, we can learn so much from one another, about one another, and through one another.

You can see that diversity and inclusivity reflected at all our events, where colour, individuality and expression are celebrated. With us, you are free to be who you are and to celebrate who you are — and you’re invited to highlight that even more. For many of us, rubber is a way to be seen, to transform — temporarily — into a more beautiful or surprising version of ourselves. Rubber feels like a second skin, a way to show that we are proud of who we are and unafraid to radiate our strength.

That is why we chose to be photographed in all the colours of the rainbow. The people you see in the photos are not professional models, but everyday people — people like you and me — showing how broad, warm and diverse our community truly is.

And where better than Amsterdam? We chose the Dam, at the National Monument, which stands as a symbol of freedom. The sculpture features figures representing resistance, peace and new life. That is exactly why we posed there: because freedom is precious, and because we should never take it for granted.
